Oblivion

Earth 2077. The planet as we know it has nearly been destroyed and the story tells us that a war broke out against aliens. Aliens known as Scavengers. During this war became our moon destroyed and with it became the planet's balance deranged. Earthquakes and tsunamis to name a few. And as In every story told by Hollywood the only weapon humans have is nukes and apparently we won with the help of those. A colony with a few surviving humans are residents on something called The Titan. It´s runned by power stations placed on Earth that generates clean fusion power. On Earth drones has been placed to protect the power stations from the last remaining Scavengers that walks on the planet.

Jack Harper, played by Tom Cruise, and his partner Vika Olsen, played by Andrea Riseborough, is the team that maintains these drones. They receive their orders from Sally that´s placed on a space station called the "Tet," that orbits the Earth.

This is the film's story and the longer the story progresses we will be introduced to secrets, lies and uncertainty. Is the story we got told really the truth? Did the war really start with an alien invasion? It works very well and you get the answers you want with a few exceptions but overall the story is solid and has a moral to it.

Tom Cruise is as always a brilliant actor and this role suits him very well. He really makes a good job portraying Jack and the audience can see how he more and more question the life he has and the story´s he heard. But Andrea Riseborough as his partner is really the perfect choice as Vika Olsen. Her english roots helps her to build a character that seems to be without a soul. A person that´s very cold and unemotional. Yet there is one other star that really should have been given more space in this movie and that is Morgan Freeman. I won´t expose his part in this movie because I want to avoid spoilers but he is and will always be a wonderful actor. Just to see him on the big screen makes this movie worth seeing. Every scene he enters, he owns. If you´re not a fan of sci - fi you still need to see this movie because every movie with Morgan is a great movie.

After 2 hours, I felt satisfaction and I got what I expected. Neither more nor less. This movie was exactly what I needed at the moment and I think that it is worth even a moment of your time as well. See it.
