Man of steel

The return of our beloved superhero of all times. And he does it with a bang.

With actors as Henry Cavill, Russel Crowe, Kevin Costner and Laurence Fishburne it just can´t go wrong. Or can it?

In this version, directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christofer Nolan, we go back to the origin of the man of steel. Back to Krypton. We will see a diffrent world, a world full of life and not that cold place that many of us associate Krypton with. This world has some parallels to James Camerons movie Avatar. We get a better introduction who Kal-Els (Supermans true name) parents really was, his legacy, his culture and how he became a member of planet Earth.

What I like with this movie is that Zack Snyder has succed to show us a new side of Superman, a darker side, a vulnerable side. He shows us how Superman struggles to learn how to control his powers, how to not expose them so the humans can see who he really is. This struggle is something we as a viewer really can see and relate to in a wierd kind of way. And that´s good. That proofs that Zack Snyder and actor Henry Cavill reallly suceed to convince us all that Superman truly is somone that actually could exist.

Cavill is really great in his potrait of Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent. And it ways up with even a greater actor in Russel Crowe as his Krypton father Jor-El. But what really suprised me was Kevin Costner and his potrait of Jonathan Kent. He really makes one of his best performance in years and he makes the audience to belive in him as the earth father of Kal-El.

And then we have the villian, General Zod. Michael Shannon is the carrier of this part and he does it well. When you look into his eyes you can see how much he wants to be the ruler of the world. He is hungry for power and he has a huge grudge against Jor-El and his son Kal-El, later to be Superman.

The movie has a lot of action scenes but it also have something you´re not used to in this kind of movies and that´s a story to be told. This reflects the fact that Christofer Nolan, the creator of the latest Batman triology, had a finger in this movie. I believie that this Superman and the upcoming sequels will be the new Batman and a start to the future Justice league movie.

I really recomend Man of steel and I think it´s one of the greatest movies out there this year. Even if you´re not a fan of Superman I believe you can enjoy it because it has something for everyone.
